We at MPM are excited to be collaborating again with the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art for this week’s blog post. The MMoCA is located at 227 State Street. Exhibition hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 12-5 pm; Friday 12-8 pm; Saturday 10 am-8 pm; and Sunday 12-5 pm. Museum admission is free.
The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art recently added an exciting and interactive dimension to the museum Rooftop Sculpture Garden: Meg Mitchell’s Tenacious Numismatic Hops Exchange (TNHE): a hop garden for unyielding people. Familiarly referred to as the Hops Exchange, Mitchell’s sculptural installation is composed of six twenty-foot-tall aluminum beams that support the growth of hop plants. Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776.
