It’s March, so you know what that means? It’s time for MARCH MADNESS! March Madness is typically the second week of March through the first week of April. This year, the tournament is scheduled to begin on March 14th, 2017. March Madness is the time of year when the NCAA Men’s and Women’s college basketball tournaments are held to determine the national champions of college basketball.
How Does the Tournament Work?
For those who do not know how the tournament works, here is a brief overview, according to Wikipedia.
They typically start with 68 college basketball teams from the Division I level of the NCAA, to determine the national championship. 16 teams make it past the first weekend’s games. This is called the “Sweet Sixteen”. The second weekend narrows the field to the “Elite Eight” and then the “Final Four”. The final weekend focuses on the four semifinalists. The two semifinal victors move on to play in the national championship game.

Earth Day is just a few days away and it has a very special connection to Wisconsin. This year, we celebrate 46 years of Earth Day on April 22nd.
