Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Most people associate the 4th of July with parades, carnivals, baseball games, family celebrations, and most importantly, fireworks! As we did last year, we’ve rounded up local options for your fireworks fix, as well as other celebrations in the Madison area for 2018’s 4th of July!
Saturday, June 23rd – Shake the Lake

Tuesday, July 3rd -Lion’s Fest & Fireworks – Edgerton
Lion’s Fest is from 4pm – midnight, with fireworks at dusk at Racetrack Park (Iki Dr & Stoughton Rd) in Edgerton. More info at http://www.edgertonfireworks.com/.
Tuesday, July 3rd – Stoughton Fair + Fireworks
The Stoughton Fair is July 4-9, with fireworks on the 4th and 9th! Fireworks will start at 9:30 pm. Learn more here.
Wednesday, July 4th – Monona Community Festival
The Monona Community Festival is Jul 3-4 with fun events, food, music and more. Learn more about the schedule here. Fireworks will be Saturday, July 4th in Winnequah Park at dusk.

Wednesday, July 4th – WaunaBoom in Waunakee
Waunakee’s 4th of July celebration includes food, fun and family activities all day, with an F-16 flyover, Black Hawk helicopter fly-in and large fireworks display. Events start at 2pm, Fireworks at 10pm at Ripp Park. Get more info on WaunaBoom here.
Wednesday, July 4th – Shorewood Hills Fireworks
Live music and other fun on Tuesday, July 3rd. July 4th is a day of fun activities, including a softball game, art fair, parade and more, ending the night with an awesome fireworks display at Blackhawk Country Club at dusk. Find out more information about the events here.
Wednesday, July 4th – Maple Bluff Fest on Fourth
Family fun activities and parade during the day. Fireworks at dusk on the lake.
Saturday, July 7th – Sauk Prairie Fire on the River
Family fun and live music and other events from Friday, July 6th through Saturday, July 7th on the Sauk City Riverwalk. Fireworks on Saturday, July 7th at 9:30pm. See the full lineup of events at http://www.fireontheriver.org/.
